ATLANTA – PrimeSport, the leader in providing hospitality and premium experiences to the biggest sporting events, today announced it has appointed three top sports marketing industry leaders to its executive team. Andrew Zinberg will serve as chief commercial officer, Jon Lavallee as chief operating officer and Zack Long as chief marketing officer.
“When we were looking to hire for these positions, we wanted to find individuals with a broad base of knowledge and experience across sports and business,” said Sam Soni, CEO of PrimeSport. “Andrew, Jon and Zack bring all those qualities and more to PrimeSport and we are thrilled to have them as part of the team.”
Zinberg is a veteran in the marketing and sales industry and has more than 15 years of athlete marketing, media, and sponsorship sales experience.
Zinberg served as senior vice president of athlete marketing and sales at Wasserman, a global sports, entertainment, marketing and management company. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic oversight of the company’s athlete marketing business including the sourcing and negotiation of endorsement, sponsorship and general marketing opportunities for the company’s roster of clients. With a focus on golf, Zinberg was also responsible for the sales strategy and business development initiatives associated with the company’s golf assets, inclusive of talent, events and consulting services. Prior to joining Wasserman, Zinberg served in senior sales positions for Van Wagner Sports Group, IMG & IMG Golf, Cablevision Advanced Platforms and Turner Sports.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Zinberg will be responsible for the commercial strategy and development of the organization as it relates to marketing, sales, product development and customer service.
Additionally, Jon Lavallee is joining PrimeSport as its chief operating officer. Lavallee has more than 18 years of financial experience in industry and public accounting. His deep background in operating and finance leadership includes M&A transactions, finance and business operations, risk management, information technology, human resources, as well as Board level communications and financial reporting. Most recently, Lavallee was the worldwide general manager and CFO of Blyth Inc., a direct-to-consumer business company focused on the direct selling and direct marketing channels. Prior to Blyth, Lavallee was the acting chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Talent Partners, a provider of talent negotiations and business affairs, traffic and clearance, rights and royalty management, signatory services, and more. Lavallee has also served as chief financial officer at Galaxy Brand Holdings Inc. and Fuel Outdoor Holdings.
Lavallee will be responsible for the oversight of PrimeSport’s day-to-day operations and finance functions, including managing PrimeSport’s financial planning and reporting.
Complementing the hiring of Zinberg and Lavallee is the addition of new chief marketing officer Zack Long. Long has more than 13 years of experience in sports marketing and previously served as a vice president in the consulting division at Wasserman. He led the firm's brand projects team which focused on brand specific marketing initiatives for a variety of clients. Prior to joining Wasserman, Long developed the digital and sponsorship strategies at the Metropolitan Golf Association and was responsible for the Association’s day-to-day business operations. Long began his career in sports at the USGA where he helped the organization develop its corporate marketing and environmental strategies.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Long will be responsible for overseeing all marketing operations of the company and developing its marketing strategy and vision.
