Get the lay of the land and see what Dover International Speedway has to offer.
The first race run at Dover International Speedway was held on July 6, 1969 when Richard Petty won the Mason-Dixon 300. Originally constructed to hold both stock car races and horse races the track was called Dover Downs. Affectionately known as the “Monster Mile” Dover International Speedway once had the highest capacity of any sports venue in the Mid-Atlantic. Currently, Dover is home to two Monster Energy Cup Series races on the NASCAR schedule, the AAA 400 Drive for Autism and the Dover 400 as well as a few other races throughout the year. Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin have the most success at Dover, Johnson with the most wins (10) and Martin with the most top ten finishes (33). “Miles the Monster” is Dover’s official mascot and is featured on all tickets, trophies, and memorabilia.
