Track Info

29355 Arnold Drive Sonoma, California, 95476

Sonoma Raceway is a 2.52 mile, 12 turn road course in the Sonoma Mountains of California. One of only two road courses used in the NASCAR Monster Cup Series, Sonoma provides a unique experience for drivers and fans alike. First paved in 1968, Sonoma saw its first race on December 1st of that same year. The 1990s saw major renovations for Sonoma Raceway, additions included a four sided electronic scoreboard in the infield, VIP suites, and a drivers lounge and emergency medical facility. Sonoma Raceway is a unique home for wildlife as well. 4,000 sheep live within the oval to maintain grass height and there are 16 owl boxes at home in the raceway to encourage owl residency, which helps with rodent maintenance. Behind the main grandstand is the Sonoma Wall of Fame which honors drivers who have excelled in their motorsport and at Sonoma Raceway. Recent inductees include Roger Penske (2015), Rick Hendrick (2010), and Jeff Gordon (2006). Gordon holds nearly every Monster Energy Cup Series record at Sonoma with best numbers in wins, top 5 and top 10 finishes, starts, poles, laps completed, laps led, and average finish amongst active drivers.
